RAA appoints new Chief Governance and Risk Officer

RAA is pleased to announce governance and risk expert, Susan Crago, is set to join the organisation’s leadership as Chief Governance and Risk Officer, on 23 October.

Susan is joining RAA from her role as General Manager Risk & Compliance at Bendigo and Adelaide Bank where she has held a range of senior risk, compliance and legal roles during a career spanning more than 20 years with the bank.

Before joining Bendigo and Adelaide Bank, Susan began her career with Kelly & Co Lawyers providing legal advice and litigation services across a range of sectors, including banking, finance and media.

Chief Executive Officer Nick Reade said with Susan joining the team, the majority of RAA’s senior leadership team are women – reflective of the diversity within RAA’s workforce.  

“Susan is one of the most experienced governance and risk leaders in the Australian financial services industry,” Mr Reade said.

“We are thrilled to have her join RAA at this time of transformation for our company, our 1300 employees and 805,000 members.

“Susan will bring highly sought after technical experience and expertise in all aspects of governance, risk management and compliance related to customer service, financial services, mergers and acquisitions, business continuity, industry regulation and internal and external audit.

Susan holds an MBA from the University of Adelaide, a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce from Flinders University and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

She is also active in a number of industry advisory committees and boards, including South Australian Government Financing Authority and Women’s Safety Services SA.
