RAA Travel launches recruitment drive in response to holiday demand

27 June, 2023

RAA Travel is on the hunt for new travel experts to keep pace with growing demand.

RAA Travel General Manager Gina Norman said the organisation is on track to do more than double the sales of the last pre-pandemic year of 2018-19, prompting them to create several new roles and launch a recruitment campaign.

“South Australians are finally getting back to realising their travel dreams,” Ms Norman said.

“At RAA Travel we’re seeing that demand first-hand, with the value of our total bookings set to more than double pre-pandemic levels this financial year.

“And with airlines still working hard to bring their flight numbers back to pre-COVID levels, there is still so much room for the industry to grow over the next few years.

“That’s why we’re actively recruiting travel experts now – to help us take advantage of this boom and send more South Aussies into the skies than ever before.”

Ms Norman said RAA Travel offered benefits over other employers due to the diversity of the RAA business.

“During the pandemic we had no forced stand-downs whatsoever because all of our staff members had the option to be re-deployed into meaningful work across other areas of our business.

“At RAA Travel we also don’t pay our travel experts commission-based salaries. Instead we offer a generous base salary and there is the opportunity to receive bonuses throughout the year.

“And there are of course also opportunities to attend travel familiarisations with our suppliers – where our experts get to experience the holidays that they’re selling firsthand so they can better convey them to potential holidaymakers.”

Ms Norman said RAA Travel was ideally looking for people with at least 12 months’ experience in the travel industry.

“There aren’t many more rewarding careers than helping to make South Aussies’ travel dreams a reality every single day.

“We know there are hundreds of people who left the industry in the last few years and are thinking of returning – if you’re one of those people, we want to give you the confidence to come back to it.

“If you’re considering a career in travel, get in touch with us today to discuss how we can help make that happen.”
