After hitting it’s 50 per cent completed milestone, the RAA Charge network is revving up for an action-packed month ahead with six new Rapid and Ultra-Rapid sites going into construction.
The six new charging sites include five 150kW Rapid and one 200kW Ultra-rapid charging location, on the back of 26 sites coming online in August spanning from Mount Gambier in the southeast to Kimba in the northwest.

Chief Executive Officer Nick Reade said the highly anticipated Rapid and Ultra-Rapid chargers will enable EV drivers to swiftly charge their vehicles in just 10-45 minutes, connecting our state’s regional and metro areas like never before.
“These new sites will soon bring the total number of charging locations online and available for public use to 77.
“Once complete, the border-to-border network will span across 140 charging sites, with 98% of the sites located well within the driving range of an EV and less than 200 kms apart.
“With 50% of the charging network already complete, we are excited to add these six new rapid and ultra-rapid sites to the network this month.
“Powered by renewable energy, our Rapid and Ultra-rapid chargers are the future of EV charging technology and will help make range anxiety a thing of the past for South Australian EV drivers.
“This summer, these charging sites will help power South Australians through their regional road trips across our beautiful state, allowing for short stops to plug in and grab coffee or a bite before hitting the road again, fully charged.”
The Rapid and Ultra-rapid charging sites will feature a mix of CCS2 and CHAdeMO plugs.
EV drivers will be able to see which chargers have both the CCS2 and CHAdeMO plugs using the Chargefox app.
