Fourteen community organisations based in metropolitan and regional South Australia have received a welcome funding boost, as RAA announced the latest recipients of its Grassroots Giving program.
With a focus on helping Murray River communities rebuild from the summer floods, this round’s recipients include eight organisations based in the Riverland.
RAA General Manager Community and Corporate Affairs Emily Perry said RAA was proud to help community groups making a difference through grants of up to $5,000.
“Grassroots Giving is all about helping local groups and organisations who need it most, right across South Australia,” Ms Perry said.
“Community groups don’t always have surplus funds for projects that benefit their local area – or funds to help them rebuild after such a significant and unexpected natural disaster like the Murray River floods.
“That’s why we extended the amount of available funds this round to help any flood-impacted organisations, and we received some brilliant and deserving applications from local groups.
“These included the Renmark Paringa Community Museum, the Renmark Bowls Club, as well as the Mannum Golf and Football Clubs.
“We look forward to seeing these projects come to life and the real benefit they deliver for the community.”
Since 2019, RAA’s Grassroots Giving program has contributed more than $240,000 to community organisations and not-for-profits.
Ms Perry also encouraged any regional organisations with a safety project in need of funding to apply for RAA’s Regional Safety Grants program, which has applications open now until 30 October.
